Custom Creations – Handpainted wooden name – Review & Giveaway – CLOSED

by Mommy on February 23, 2009

Shannon MacQueen is the brains behind Custom Creations.  Shannon is a work at home mom from London, Ontario.  She makes beautiful wall hangings from scratch. Shannon starts by precision routtering out the letters, then sands, primes, paints and then adds the finishing touch, the ribbons.  She does all the work herself from start to finish.

Custom Creations is just that – they are customized creations made from wood.  You can get a name or your family’s last name, or your house number.  Whatever you want done, Shannon can make it for you.  There are also many types of fonts and paints to choose from as well.  If you want to add some pizzazz to your room, or house, these Custom Creations will add the little personal touch you are looking for!

I recieved the beautiful package from Shannon a few weeks after I had originally talked to her. She had informed me right away that there would be a delay in my name because her wood cutting machine had a bit of glitch.  Once the machine was functioning again it was only a few short days before I received the package.  I really appreciated being told right away that there would be a delay.

The name I requested was DD (my daughter’s name).  I told her to use any font and paitings she wanted to – I love surprises.  What I got was a little masterpiece that added a bit of whimsy to my daughters bedroom.  Just the finishing touch that a little girls room needs. The letters have been cut so well, all the “e” ‘s look exactally the same, the painting looks superb and the ribbons are all the exact same length.  You can really see the time and patience Shannon spends making these names.  They look very professional.  This is something a mother would make for thier daughter if they had all the time in the world (and creativity) to make it!

Before our baby was born, my husband and I were shopping in baby stores and saw handpainted baby names that said $10, and I thought wow, that is an amazing price.   Turns out, that was per letter!  My baby’s name is 9 letters long, I could not justify spending $90 plus tax on a name. Custom Creations is only $20 a name (up to 6 letters and 5″ per letter) OR 2 names for $35, plus shipping.  Holy smokes, that’s a very good price.  You could go to a craft store and get unpainted letters for $5 each and the only font is block letters, and then have to paint them yourself (buy the paint) and then glue on the ribbon. Shannon does everything for you, all you have to do is put your order in and it’s cheaper and easier than doing it yourself.

Other things Shannon will do are family names for the front of your house.  It’s a full wood carving.   How cute would that look on your house?  Pick what picture you want, engraving or embossing and once again Shannon will whip it up for you in no time.  She’s a whiz when it comes to woodworking and painting.  Boy or girl, young or old, she has something that will appeal to everyones taste.

You can also spice up your kitchen or livingroom with words like Dream, Live, Love, Laugh, Hope, Wish, and Bon Appetit!  Whatever you are looking for, Shannon can make it for you and her professionalism and pride in her work will show and make your home shine as well.

Shannon’s work is great and so is her customer service.  I am very pleased with the name I received and I know you will be too.  With her great pricing and timing you will be more than pleased with the treasure you recieve from Custom Creations.
